1. Gideon’s Sword

Gideon’s Sword (2011)[2] establishes Gideon Crew’s personal history, beginning with the death of his father and Gideon’s later effort to clear his name.[7]
This novel then moves Gideon into the world of Effective Engineering Solutions, where Eli Glinn recruits him for a covert mission involving stolen technology, international espionage, and a terminal diagnosis that becomes central to the series.[7]
2. Gideon’s Corpse

Gideon’s Corpse (2012)[3] continues Gideon’s role as an operative for Effective Engineering Solutions. This book begins with a hostage crisis tied to Gideon’s past at Los Alamos and expands into a national security investigation.[8]
Its place in the series depends on Gideon’s established Effective Engineering Solutions connection, his uneasy collaboration with official agencies, and the continuing pressure of his medical prognosis.[8]
3. The Lost Island

The Lost Island (2014)[4] begins with the assignment promised at the end of the previous book: the theft of a page from the Book of Kells. That mission opens into a search for a healing substance, giving Gideon’s illness renewed importance.[9]
This novel also develops his working relationship with Glinn and Garza while leading into the larger oceanic mission that follows.[9]
4. Beyond the Ice Limit

Beyond the Ice Limit (2016)[5] carries forward the final mission proposed after The Lost Island. Gideon, Glinn, Garza, and a specialist crew travel to the Antarctic seafloor to confront an alien organism connected to a previous expedition.[10]
This book is part of the continuing sequence because it relies on Gideon’s recruitment, Glinn’s agenda, and the mission framework established earlier.[10]
5. The Pharaoh Key

The Pharaoh Key (2018)[6] follows Gideon and Garza after the apparent end of Effective Engineering Solutions. With Gideon facing the final stage of his medical condition and Effective Engineering Solutions no longer functioning as before, this book shifts the series toward a more personal expedition.[11]
Its story depends on the established Gideon-Garza partnership and on Eli Glinn’s long-running presence.[11]
