1. The Terminal List

The Terminal List (2018)[10] introduces James Reece as a Navy SEAL whose life is destroyed by a conspiracy involving his team, his family, and a secret medical experiment. This novel establishes the central pattern of the series: Reece as a hunted man who turns his training, contacts, and personal code against powerful enemies.[1]
It is the necessary foundation for his later status and motivations.[1]
2. True Believer

True Believer (2019)[11] continues Reece’s story after his escape from the United States and his belief that he is dying. This book moves him from personal vengeance into a wider intelligence operation involving terrorism, international manipulation, and returning military connections.[2]
It also reshapes his relationship with the U.S. government, making it an essential bridge between the fugitive Reece of book one and the operative he becomes later.[2]
3. Savage Son

Savage Son (2020)[12] places Reece in recovery while earlier enemies and new Russian threats converge around him and the Hastings family. This novel intensifies the importance of Reece’s closest allies, especially Raife Hastings, while continuing the consequences of the conspiracies exposed in the previous books.[3]
Its events also connect Reece’s personal history, his father’s legacy, and the hostile networks that continue to pursue him.[3]
4. The Devil’s Hand

The Devil’s Hand (2021)[13-14] moves Reece into a more formal role with the CIA’s Special Activities Center and ties his missions to presidential authority, terrorism, and biological warfare. This book widens the scope of the series from personal revenge and intelligence betrayal to national crisis.[4]
It should be read after the first three books because Reece’s position, relationships, and government connections have been shaped by earlier events.[4]
5. In the Blood

In the Blood (2022)[15-16] begins with an assassination that draws Reece into a hunt connected to Mossad, Russian intelligence, and a sniper tied to his past losses. This novel also introduces the powerful artificial intelligence system Alice and expands the danger surrounding Reece’s father’s legacy.[5]
Its ending creates a setup for the next book, making it important to read before Only the Dead.[5]
6. Only the Dead

Only the Dead (2023)[17-18] follows Reece after he has been framed for a presidential assassination. This novel explores the conspiracy behind that frame-up, the legacy left by Thomas Reece, and the group known as the Collective.[6]
It is a major continuation of threads from In the Blood and resolves a central part of Reece’s inherited conflict.[6]
7. Red Sky Mourning

Red Sky Mourning (2024)[19-20] continues Reece’s life after the events surrounding the Collective and places him at the center of a conflict involving China, Taiwan, artificial intelligence, and compromised American power structures. This novel depends heavily on Reece’s established relationships with Katie, the Hastings family, Vic Rodriguez, and Alice.[7]
Its ending leaves Reece in a new personal position that leads into the next book.[7]
8. State of Exile

State of Exile, which will be published on May 11, 2027,[21-22] follows Reece after he has entered self-imposed follows Reece after he has entered self-imposed exile. This book’s premise connects a 9/11 call, a downed sixth-generation fighter over Ukraine, the destruction of the Taj Mahal, AI-enabled weapons, and a crisis between two nuclear nations.[8]
Its setup depends on Reece’s history and on the consequences of his disappearance, making it a continuation rather than a separate entry point.[8]
