1. The Seven Sisters

The Seven Sisters (2014)[11] introduces Maia D’Aplièse and the series frame: Pa Salt’s sudden death, the family estate at Atlantis, and the clues he leaves for each adopted daughter. Maia’s journey takes her from Lake Geneva to Brazil.[2]
There, family letters and local history connect her to Rio de Janeiro and to a past shaped by art, duty, and parentage.[2]
2. The Storm Sister

The Storm Sister (2015)[12] shifts the focus to Ally, whose life as a professional sailor is shaken by loss and by Pa Salt’s clues about Norway. Her investigation moves through music, family biography, and connections to the Halvorsen line.[3]
Meanwhile, the present-day frame carries the reader from Maia’s opening story to the next sister’s search.[3]
3. The Shadow Sister

The Shadow Sister (2016)[13] centers on Star, who leaves her intense dependence on CeCe to investigate a clue tied to a London bookshop and the name Flora MacNichol. Her search gradually leads her to a deeper understanding of her identity and family history.[4]
This novel uses Star’s journey to open a historical story connected with the Lake District and High Weald, while also setting up CeCe’s more solitary path.[4]
4. The Pearl Sister

The Pearl Sister (2017)[14] follows CeCe after her separation from Star, beginning with her uncertainty in Thailand and then moving toward Australia. Her story connects an old photograph, a biography of Kitty Mercer, pearling history in Broome, and Aboriginal family heritage.[5]
The ending turns the series toward Tiggy in the Scottish Highlands, carrying the focus from CeCe’s story to the next sister.[5]
5. The Moon Sister

The Moon Sister (2018)[15] follows Tiggy at a Highland estate, where her work with rare wildcats, encounters with Chilly, and Pa Salt’s clue point her toward Granada. This book brings together the Scottish present and a Spanish family history rooted in Sacromonte.[6]
It also carries forward the series’ sister-to-sister transitions, moving from Tiggy toward Electra.[6]
6. The Sun Sister

The Sun Sister (2019)[16] turns to Electra in New York, where public success masks addiction, grief, and isolation. Her contact with Stella Jackson and her investigation of Pa Salt’s coordinates lead into family history spanning Kenya and New York.[7]
Meanwhile, the present-day storyline moves the series toward the question of the missing seventh sister.[7]
7. The Missing Sister

The Missing Sister (2021)[17] follows Shayna Darby in Paris after emails claim that her identical twin, Angela, has died. Messages in the twins’ private language, catacomb coordinates, and a criminal investigation drive this installment.[8]
It stands apart from the D’Aplièse origin-search pattern but retains the central concern with a missing sister and concealed identity.[8]
8. Atlas: The Story of Pa Salt

Atlas: The Story of Pa Salt (2023)[18-19] returns to the family frame and tells Pa Salt’s life through diary material read by his daughters and Merry. The narrative moves from childhood, music, war, exile, and Atlantis to the circumstances behind his adopted family.[9]
It is the concluding volume for the overarching mystery rather than another sister-origin novel.[9]
