1. Nothing Ventured

Nothing Ventured (2019)[10] introduces William Warwick as he chooses policing over the legal career expected by his father, Sir Julian Warwick. This novel establishes his early training, his transfer to Scotland Yard, and his first major work in the Art and Antiques unit.[2]
It also introduces Beth Rainsford and Miles Faulkner, whose presence establishes the series’ central recurring criminal conflict.[2]
3. Turn a Blind Eye

Turn a Blind Eye (2021)[12] places William in an anti-corruption assignment while earlier criminal cases continue to shape the narrative. This book connects the Rashidi prosecution, the investigation into corrupt officers, and the question of Faulkner’s survival into a single sequence.[23]
It depends on the preceding book’s unfinished business, making it a weak standalone starting point.[23]
4. Over My Dead Body

Over My Dead Body (2021)[13] follows William as he leads an Unsolved Murders Unit while still pursuing Miles Faulkner under a new identity. This novel combines cold-case investigations with the long-running Faulkner plot and gives Ross Hogan a larger role in the series.[24]
Its events build on Faulkner’s escape, concealment, and criminal network.[24]
5. Next in Line

Next in Line (2022)[14-15] shifts William’s team into the Royalty Protection Command while Faulkner remains an active presence from prison. This book combines a corruption inquiry, royal security threats, and Beth Warwick’s changing professional position.[25]
It continues established relationships and rivalries, so its impact depends on the reader already knowing William’s team, Faulkner’s history, and the earlier police conflicts.[25]
6. Traitors Gate

Traitors Gate (2023)[16-17] centers on a Crown Jewels security operation and Faulkner’s attempt to take revenge on William, Ross, and Hawksby. This novel also continues the art-world strand involving Beth and the Fitzmolean Museum.[26]
Its central conflict grows from Faulkner’s earlier defeats and resentments, making it part of the ongoing series arc.[26]
7. An Eye for an Eye

An Eye for an Eye (2024)[18-19] expands the series into international crime, art fraud, and political stakes while keeping Faulkner and Booth Watson at the center of the opposition. William, Beth, Ross, and the Warwick family remain tied to ongoing professional and personal consequences.[27]
This novel also carries forward Ross Hogan’s storyline in a way that depends on previous installments.[27]
8. End Game

End Game (2025)[20-21] brings the series to the London Olympics, where William leads security operations and Ross returns to undercover work. This novel ties together international sabotage, Faulkner’s final criminal alliance, Beth’s museum career, and the long-running conflict that has shaped the series since its opening book.[28]
It is the concluding book of the William Warwick storyline.[28]
