1. Sweet Sin
Sweet Sin was originally self-published in 2022.[4]
In Sweet Sin, Kal Anderson, nicknamed Doctor Death, is a fixer who keeps his professional work separate from his personal life. Despite his efforts, complications arise when dealing with the notorious Ricci crime family, and he can’t seem to avoid their entanglements.
He’s not supposed to notice Elena Ricci, his boss’s daughter, especially given his complicated history with her parents. With her arranged marriage looming, Elena desires one night to explore their mutual attraction.
2. Promises and Pomegranates
Promises and Pomegranates was originally self-published in 2021.[5]
In Promises and Pomegranates, Elena Ricci, daughter of a prominent mafia family in Boston, is set to marry her fiancé Mateo to secure her family’s power and wealth. However, when someone attempts to blackmail her family, she is thrust into an unexpected marriage with Kallum Anderson.
Kallum Anderson has lived a cold, emotionless existence as a fixer and in-house physician for the Mafia until Elena enters his life. After a shared night that only deepens their connection, Kal becomes fixated on her.
3. Vipers and Virtuosos
Vipers and Virtuosos was originally self-published in 2021.[6]
In Vipers and Virtuosos, Riley Kelly moves to New York City seeking normalcy after a traumatic assault two years prior left her scarred. Reluctantly attending a fundraiser gala with her roommates, she catches the eye of rock star Aiden James, who bids for her company for the evening.
They spend time together and even get matching tattoos representing the nickname he gives her. Their encounter results in unforeseen consequences when Aiden is accused of assaulting Riley.
4. Oaths and Omissions
Oaths and Omissions was originally self-published in 2022.[7]
In Oaths and Omissions, Jonas Wolfe is a British assassin and pub owner haunted by a failed mission from a decade ago, where he attempted to eliminate a man. After serving his jail sentence, he focuses on his contracts and running his bar on Aplana Island.
Lenny Primrose, the only daughter of a prominent family on the same island, has been exploited to advance her father’s interests. Determined to avoid an arranged marriage, Lenny seeks out Jonas, the man her father fears most.
5. Arrows and Apologies
Arrows and Apologies was originally self-published in 2022.[8]
In Arrows and Apologies, Mayor Alistair Wolfe is tasked with hiring a new assistant who looks the part and steers clear of scandals, fulfilling the demands of the criminals funding his career. Unexpectedly, he blackmails his one-night stand, Cora Astor, into accepting the position.
Cora isn’t seeking a relationship or employment, but working for the mayor of Aplana Island might help her find her missing brother. As she searches for leads, her life becomes tightly connected with Alistair’s.
6. Souls and Sorrows
Souls and Sorrows was originally self-published in 2022.[9]
In Souls and Sorrows, Cash Primrose is a successful environmental lawyer who dedicates his life entirely to his work. His world takes a turn when he attends an underground auction and becomes captivated by Ariana Ricci, an ex-ballerina caught in a perilous situation.
On impulse, he places a staggering bid of a quarter of a billion dollars and suddenly finds himself married. Ariana, the middle daughter of a once-prominent crime family and a survivor of her mother’s abuse, is used to wielding seduction and violence to get her way.
7. Liars and Liaisons
Liars and Liaisons was originally self-published in 2023.[10]
In Liars and Liaisons, Violet Artinos attends her cousin’s political fundraiser to show support and reconnect with her ex-boyfriend. Instead, she unexpectedly kisses a masked stranger, unaware that he’s Grayson James, the younger brother of her ex.
Grayson, a reclusive and musically gifted professor, seeks to involve Violet in his vendetta by blackmailing her into staying at his secluded, possibly haunted estate. He insists that her presence will unsettle his brother, but deeper motives soon surface.
King’s Trace Antiheroes series
Although the King’s Trace Antiheroes books do not need to be read in order,[11-13] readers will get more context and continuity by reading them in publication order,[14-16] as follows:

1. Sweet Surrender
Sweet Surrender (2020)[14] follows Caroline Harrison into a marriage of convenience with mafia leader Elia Montalto, who offers protection from her father. Caroline’s concealed plans for revenge complicate an arrangement that also promises safety for her younger sister, Juliet.[11]
Their story establishes the Harrison–Montalto connection and the family conflicts whose consequences shape the later romances.[11]
2. Sweet Solitude
Sweet Solitude (2020)[15] follows Juliet Harrison into a relationship with criminal fixer Kieran Ivers after he uses her lost locket as leverage. Her struggle with her family history unfolds alongside his investigation into threats connected to a trafficking operation.[12]
Juliet’s story develops the consequences of the Harrison family conflict while giving the Ivers family a larger role in the series.[12]
3. Sweet Sacrifice
Sweet Sacrifice (2021)[16] follows Fiona Ivers as she becomes involved with Boyd Kelly, her brother Kieran’s best friend. Their relationship is complicated by Fiona’s caregiving responsibilities, her obsessive-compulsive symptoms, and Boyd’s unresolved family history.[13]
By returning to shared events from Sweet Solitude, this novel adds Fiona and Boyd’s perspective before carrying their own conflicts beyond those overlapping events.[13]
The Black Rose Auction series
The Black Rose Auction series comprises six books, but Sav R. Miller wrote only one of them.[1] However, it’s not necessary to read the other books of the series, because each book develops its own central relationship and conflict rather than continuing an unresolved romance from the previous installment.[17-22]
Stolen Vows
Royal Heart (2025)[23] follows art thief Damon Hunt and security analyst Ari Denton as they pose as a married couple to steal a royal necklace from the auction. Their history, marked by the death of Ari’s father, complicates both the operation and their attraction.[22]
It offers a heist-centered view of the auction, with the couple’s past and the necklace’s recovery forming a self-contained story.[22]
Monsters Within series
Although the Monsters Within books do not need to be read in order, readers will get more context and continuity by reading them in publication order,[24-26] which coincides with their chronological order,[27-29] as shown below:

1. Endless Anger
Endless Anger (2025)[24] follows Asher Anderson and Lucy Wolfe as their childhood bond is tested by separation and dangers at Avernia College. Asher’s attempts to protect Lucy are entangled with a family history that makes the Andersons targets.[27]
Their story establishes the Anderson siblings, the college’s secret societies, and the conflicts that carry into the later books.[27]
2. Jealous Rage
Jealous Rage (2026)[25] centers on Noelle “Elle” Anderson, who enrolls at Avernia after her acting career is derailed and becomes involved with theater professor Sutton Dupont. Their relationship draws Elle into the college’s cult activity and a history connecting the Anderson and Dupont families.[28]
This book expands the role of Death’s Teeth while exploring the consequences of the first book’s campus violence.[28]
3. Vengeful Destruction
Vengeful Destruction, which will be published on December 8, 2026,[26] focuses on Quincy Anderson, whose academic seclusion is disrupted when she is reunited with Eden Ivers, the woman she once loved. Their renewed attraction is tied to dangers rooted in their student years and Eden’s investigations into the university’s deaths and secret societies.[29]
Quincy’s relationship with Eden brings her university history into the continuing mystery surrounding the Anderson family’s legacy.[29]
Standalone book
Sav R. Miller wrote a single standalone book, titled Be Still My Heart.[2]

Be Still My Heart was originally self-published in 2020.[30]
In Be Still My Heart, Skelm Island, Maine, is renowned for its lobsters and a broken lighthouse. When bodies start appearing in the surrounding waters, the town becomes the center of an investigation.
Lincoln Porter, a gruff ex-SEAL with a lobstering business, is unwittingly connected to the investigation as his traps yield more corpses than catch.
